ONICHEM Announces Cancellation of the Pending Orders for Glutaraldehyde

ONICHEM announces the cancellation of ALL the pending orders for Glutaraldehyde, effective
on 05 June, 2008.
The materials are supplied for the state purchase for the disinfection & vaccination in Sichun
Province which are suffering from the earthquake on 12 May 2008. After the end of searching
for the survivals in the earthquake, it is the most important and the highest level priority to offer
the disinfection & vaccination in the areas. As well known already, Glutaraldehyde is a widely
used sanitizer and it is vital in helping to reduce the risk of spreading deadly diseases and
help fight against a wide range of animal viruses and human coronavirus.
Meanwhile, to secure the safety (anti-terrorism security) during the Olympics Beijing 2008, the
Chinese authorities have placed some temporary but extreme restrictions on the local
transportation, import & export of dangerous cargoes during the next few months.
Glutaraldehyde is regulated as Corrosive Liquid (Class 8, UN 2922) or even Poison Liquid
(Class 6.1, UN 2810) in China (not Class 8, UN 3265 which is well known outside China).
As the supplying and transportation are out of our control now, we declare it as the Force
Majeure and declare the cancellation of the pending orders.
Once the Olympic is ended, we will re-start to supply Glutaraldehyde shortly, for example,
since this September.
